Toowoomba

The Toowoomba Region sits high on the Great Dividing Range in the heart of Queensland Country. A place of cooler air, big views and surprising depth, it's closer than you might think — just an hour or two west of Brisbane.

From the internationally acclaimed Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers to clifftop lookouts, forested escarpments and a thriving café and food scene, the Garden City and its surrounding towns offer far more than many travellers expect. Spend a morning at a weekend market, follow a heritage walking track into the landscape, or linger over a lunch starring fresh local produce. Heritage streets and contemporary culture sit side by side, festivals bring colour and energy throughout the year and major touring routes converge here, making it an easy base for longer drives or a destination well worth the stop in its own right.

Whether you’re heading west toward big skies and red dirt or pausing on a Queensland Country road trip, the Toowoomba Region rewards the curious and the unhurried alike.
