Moreton Bay

Perfectly positioned between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay brings together island escapes, coastal charm, and hinterland retreats – where fresh flavours, natural beauty and easy-going experiences create a destination that’s close to home yet feels a world away.

Moreton Bay is a region of contrast, where coast, country and island experiences sit side by side – each offering a distinct way to slow down and reconnect.

In the Hinterland, the pace softens among rolling hills, rainforest pockets and fertile farmland. Scenic drives lead to farm gates, cellar doors and local producers, where paddock-to-plate experiences showcase the best of the region. Walking trails wind through national parks, revealing lookouts, creeks, and forested hideaways, while farm stays and long lunches invite visitors to settle in and stay a while. It’s a place defined by simple pleasures, authentic experiences, and a strong connection to the land.

Along the coastline, the Redcliffe Peninsula captures the essence of seaside living. Calm bays, historic jetties and waterfront promenades set the scene for easy days that start with sunrise walks, ocean swims and coffee by the water. Gentle beaches and shaded foreshores make it ideal for families, while the iconic jetty offers a classic spot for fishing and fish and chips by the bay. Fresh, local seafood is a highlight, complemented by cafés, markets and relaxed dining that bring a strong sense of community to the coast. On the water, kayaking, paddleboarding and seasonal whale watching add to the experience.

Offshore, Bribie Island delivers an accessible island escape. Connected by bridge yet surrounded by natural beauty, it offers calm passage waters for swimming and kayaking, alongside a long ocean beach perfect for 4WD adventures, fishing, and coastal walks. National parks and conservation areas protect diverse ecosystems, where wildlife encounters — from dolphins to birdlife and kangaroos – are part of the everyday. Simple moments define the experience, whether it’s stopping for fresh strawberries, enjoying an ice cream, or unwinding with fish and chips by the water.

Across Moreton Bay, it’s this balance of nature, flavour and lifestyle that shapes the experience. Whether you’re seeking space to breathe, time to explore or a relaxed coastal rhythm, it’s a destination that makes escaping the everyday feel effortless.
