Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

The multi award winning Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is Queensland’s most colourful springtime celebration! A living, breathing celebration of spring with lots of flowers, food and fun!
The idea for Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers first emerged in 1949 to boost community spirit and generate economic activity following the hardships of WW2, and in 1950 the first Carnival was held with an impressive audience of 50,000 people turning out to join in the celebrations, watching a street procession led by a bullock team that stretched three miles in length.
The event has evolved and is now Australia’s longest running floral event. Held annually during the school holiday period in late September to early October each year, a mass of people head to Toowoomba over three floral filled weekends to bask in nature at its finest.
You can marvel at the amazing floral displays, the floral parks are packed with over 190,000 flowers, enjoy delicious local food and generally have the best fun at the multiple events held, including FEASTival, Paw Parade, and Ferris Wheel rides. The Grand Central Floral Parade attracts up to 75,000 people, now that’s flower power!
