Drive Queensland is building a strong fan base with many attendees saying they came to the show just to get information from our stand and a few who had seen us last year. One customer returned to Drive Queensland for the second year in a row saying she loved the stall and had used the brochures she collected to plan last year’s trip. She was back to do the same again this year!

Brochures for Townsville, Kingfisher Resort (K’gari), Drive North Queensland Map, Cairns (TNQ), Drive Queensland, Coral Expeditions and the Outback ran out fast with people planning to hit the road around June and July. Drive Queensland’s large central map and the details showing sealed and unsealed roads were appreciated by visitors to the stand.

Outback Queensland was very popular, particularly around Birdsville, with inquiries about Winton, Julia Creek, Cloncurry and Boulia. Many were keen to understand if there were remaining road closures after the recent flooding. Travellers were advised to go to official destination websites and contact visitor information centres for the most up-to-date advice.

Most people were planning to travel via an inland route north. Many were wanting advice on taking caravans to The Tip of Cape York Peninsula and K’gari was very popular with inquiries also coming through for Ipswich, Mackay, Toowoomba and Townsville. Gympie, the Scenic Rim, the Dinosaur Trail, the Savannah Way and fossicking around Emerald were also in demand.

The Capricorn region, Mareeba, Gold Coast and Noosa were asked about and Great Barrier Reef cruises were popular with people wanting to cruise. Some were asking about a 2026 event calendar to plan their holiday around.

Surprisingly there were a few people who had never been to Queensland and were keen to find out everything they could so they could plan their first trip. A few motorbike riders wanted information, and a hiker also came to the stand.
We had some great media moments, with Pat Callinan (Mr 4X4) wearing a Drive Queensland/Ringers Western shirt during his presentation. James Tobin from Sunrise dropped by, and our ambassador Kylie Rixon did a live interview on Triple M Sydney 104.9.
More than 160 people entered the Drive Queensland competition to win a myCOOLMAN fridge/freezer valued at over $940. It was won by J. Middleton.
