Fiona Nicholl

Managing Director
Passionate about travel and all things related, Fiona Nicholl is a well-connected entrepreneur with over 26 years experience in Tourism and Marketing. Her expertise expands to PR, Project and Event Management, Publishing, Digital Marketing and serving as a Board Member.

In 2022, Fiona discovered an opportunity to create a whole of state collaboration between tourism organisations to promote the Queensland drive market and was successful in partnering our Queensland State Tourism Organisation (STO), Queensland Regional Tourism Organisations (RTO’s), Caravanning Queensland (CQ) and distribution partner, Link Logic. Drive Queensland quickly became an integral part of our Queensland tourism industry and was attracting interest from local government associations and local businesses.

Originally stemming from aviation (she even has a few flight hours up her sleeve), Fiona prefers to stay a little more grounded these days. She loves working with industry colleagues, discovering new pockets of our great state and sharing her knowledge and experience with the world!

Yoon Ha Kang

Creative Director
With 15 years of experience in graphic and digital design, Yoon Ha Kang has developed a sharp eye for creating standout promotional materials across both print and digital platforms. His career has taken him through lively advertising agencies and in-house marketing teams, where he’s managed various accounts and collaborated with big-name brands like Air Niugini, The Reef Hotel Casino, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Blackmores, and Queensland Health.

Yoon Ha is passionate about crafting meaningful designs and enhancing experiences grounded in research and strategy. He’s the creative force behind the Drive Queensland logo and brand, having been part of the team from the very start, and remains an important asset of the Drive Queensland team.

Claudia McFadden

Sales & Market Specialist
With over 35 years of tourism experience, Claudia McFadden’s journey began as an avid traveller, bringing her to Australia, where she worked in hospitality and touring at Ayers Rock. Her adventures took her across the vast landscapes of this great country, eventually leading her to settle in Queensland. A passionate road traveller and camper, Claudia is always eager to explore and learn more about Queensland and beyond.

Before joining Drive Queensland, Claudia dedicated almost 11 years to Tourism Tropical North Queensland as the Western Markets & Domestic Sales Manager, where she successfully promoted the region and its incredible drive experiences. In late 2023, Claudia decided to step back from full-time employment to support the crucial travel segment with Drive Queensland, continuing to promote Queensland as the top drive destination both domestically and globally.

Originally from Europe, Claudia speaks fluent German and Danish, maintaining strong connections to the European markets. Her extensive travels and deep involvement in North Queensland's development have made her a proud local and a passionate advocate for the region. Her wealth of knowledge and dedication to promoting Queensland as a premier drive destination make her an invaluable addition to the Drive Queensland team.

Susan Maynard

Digital Media Specialist
With over 35 years of experience in tourism, digital marketing, and training, Susan has worked across retail, wholesale, accommodation, education, and State and Regional Tourism Organisations. Her passion for tourism and digital innovation shines through, and she is dedicated to providing practical advice that delivers real results.

As a qualified trainer and presenter, Susan helps tourism operators navigate the ever-changing digital and tourism landscapes. Her approachable, down-to-earth style, combined with a great sense of humour, enables her to collaborate effectively with business owners, operators, and frontline staff. She focuses on developing digital strategies that enhance knowledge, build skills, and increase revenue through cost-effective digital campaigns, customer engagement, and reputation management.

Known for her highly effective workshops, webinars, and one-on-one mentoring, Susan customises her content and delivery to suit a wide range of audiences and skill levels.

Carol McFarlane

Executive Advisor
With over four decades of experience in executive and senior roles in Marketing, Media, Publishing, Tourism, Education and the Gaming Industry, Carol brings a wealth of experience to Drive Queensland. Operating in an advisory capacity, Carol is able to bring her expertise across many operational areas. In recent times Carol has found a new passion for the drive market and enjoys assisting at shows and expos, learning lots about our great state of Queensland and sharing this information with the many visitors to the busy Drive Queensland stand.

Originally from Scotland, Carol has lived in Australia for many years and has worked extensively in media across press, TV and radio, was a director of Gateway Media specialising in publishing, printing and creative services, was the founding Marketing Manager at TAFE TNQ and more recently was on the Executive Leadership Team of The Reef Hotel Casino as Executive Manager Marketing.

Daniel Pycroft

AV and Broadcast Creative
With over 34 years of experience in the broadcast and production industry, Daniel Pycroft brings a rare blend of technical expertise, creative insight, and having a skill of being calm under pressure. His career has taken him through over 6 years in a production house, 13 years in television broadcasting, and over 15 years running his own successful production company.

Daniel plays a key creative role in supporting Drive Queensland’s video content, helping to showcase the unique landscapes, experiences, and communities that define Queensland’s drive market. He has worked across a wide range of projects — from national and international broadcasts to major tourism campaigns, government projects, and corporate events. A personal career highlight was his involvement in the broadcast coverage of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Daniel is known for his ability to bring a client’s vision to life — often uncovering new angles or storytelling approaches they hadn’t considered. He works closely with clients to produce polished, and engaging content and leads a team of talented creatives capable of scaling up to meet the needs of any project.

Passionate about staying ahead in a fast-evolving industry, Daniel is always refining his skills and exploring new techniques to ensure the content remains fresh and effective. For him, the work doesn’t feel like work, it’s a creative outlet and something he genuinely loves doing.

When not behind the camera or in the edit suite, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, exploring remote tracks in his 4WD, chatting with locals, and tracking down the best coffee in town.

Liz Inglis

Content and PR Executive
Queenslander Liz Inglis has been exploring her home state by road for five decades. She visited The Tip of Cape York Peninsula back in the days when they only way north was to drive through the Jardine River and has enjoyed seeing the State’s remote areas become more accessible to drive enthusiasts in recent years.

A former travel editor and writer, Liz published tourism magazines and won an Australian Tourism Award for Media in 2004. She now uses her travel writing skills to assist with public relations.

Liz joins Drive Queensland with a solid background in the tourism and travel industry. She has worked with Tourism Tropical North Queensland, Tourism and Events Queensland and several tourism operators. Liz regularly showcases Queensland to visiting media and enjoys creating itineraries for film crews and writers to tell the Drive Queensland story.

With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Simon Frost brings a unique blend of technical expertise, creative thinking, and a proven ability to solve problems under pressure. His career began with a side hustle in web development while working in a software and ecommerce firm, eventually evolving into the successful business he runs today with a dedicated team.

Simon plays a pivotal role in shaping Drive Queensland’s online presence, designing and maintaining a dynamic website that captures the spirit of Queensland’s drive market. His work ranges from enhancing established web systems to pioneering innovative digital interfaces. The creation of the Drive Queensland website stands out as a career milestone, combining elements from past projects into something entirely original.

Renowned for his collaborative approach, Simon works closely with clients to bring their ideas to life—often uncovering new solutions and perspectives in the process. He leads a talented team with a strong emphasis on clear communication, shared vision, and seamless project execution.

Passionate about staying ahead of web technology trends, Simon continually hones his skills to deliver modern, effective solutions. His work is a true fusion of passion and profession, where creativity meets functionality.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys fine dining with friends and tinkering with his ever-evolving smart home—reflecting his enthusiasm for both technology and leisure.
