National 4×4 Outdoors Show 2025

  • Melbourne Showgrounds
  • 22-24 August 2025
  • 32,416 attendees, 32,547 in 2024
The National 4x4 Outdoors Show attracted a different demographic to the caravan shows with people looking for isolated and rugged four-wheel-driving. The Drive Queensland stall had great engagement as our state has many drives suitable for 4WD enthusiasts, and our team are well versed in giving advice on road conditions and how to prepare vehicles for tougher conditions.

Drive Queensland Ambassador Kylie Rixon, who owns Sunset Tourist Park in Mount Isa, presented at Tracks N Trips on stage each day for people wanting insider knowledge on road tripping throughout Outback Queensland. She highlighted the best drives in the region and shared tips on navigating remote areas including managing long distances, limited phone reception, planning fuel stops and safely sharing the road with road trains. The talks were a huge success with each person staying to ask more questions.

The Outback was very popular with questions about Birdsville and the Savannah Way right across to Broome with strong interest in Lawn Hill reopening. Tropical North Queensland was popular for Victorians wanting to escape their cold winter. The Tip was a hot topic, and maps were very popular with constant questions about road conditions.

Many were planning for travel in these areas between June and August 2026. Quite a few people were grabbing as many brochures as they could to start planning for their retirement and our Ringers Western bags were very popular to fill with their Queensland dreams, as were the maps and caravan park directories.

There was strong interest in Fraser Island, Whitsundays and Capricorn Coast and a lot of questions about Bowen and Gympie. Day 2 brought some international travellers who were asking about fly and flop destinations including Cairns, Mission Beach and the Whitsundays.

Pet-related questions were common and there was interest in child-friendly experiences. There were questions from a few about safety, and we explained that caravan parks are much safer than free camps. Many first-time travellers were wanting tag-a-long tours and there were also some solo travellers making inquiries.

The myCOOLMAN 20 litre fridge/freezer attracted attention. Those who attended our stall received a 10% discount code for myCOOLMAN products.

The Epic Queensland ‘Festiventure’ competition attracted 297 entries with Russ V. winning a VIP package including 2 adult tickets and large unpowered campsite at Savannah in the Round, a 20L myCOOLMAN Fridge/Freezer including power pack and a Ringers Western Gift Pack.
